Spring Iyaleta is an annual training program whose methodology is to promote free courses in the great Spring cycle, from September to December, in the Global South. At Spring Iyaleta 2023 we were offering six free courses, up to forty hours each, from September 28th to December 16th.

We invite everyone to come together in the development of thoughts, ideas and techniques and technologies, moving through the sciences of bodies, territories, lands, waters and air, in cities, fields and forests. In a century that calls on us to act critically in the present and responsibly with the planetary ecosystem, we defend that the elimination of inequalities impacts the populations and natural ecosystems of the Global South.

The courses sought to socialize thoughts and technical and technological knowledge, expanding the possibilities of access to studies and methodologies for scientific analysis of urban and rural realities in Brazilian territory. In this edition, Spring Iyaleta 2023 program advanced in guaranteeing the goals of the Iyaleta Research Association in promoting scientific knowledge of the humanities, nature, techniques and technologies.

The second edition of Spring Iyaleta, which took place in the spring of 2023, had the theme “Climate Change in Unequal Territories”, which methodologically organized the program into three subthemes: Climate Change and Inequalities; Territories and Urban Studies; and Technical-Political Training of Researchers. Each subtheme together formed a trail of knowledge that was shared by experts.

The objective of the free courses was to guarantee access to scientific education, the development of skills and the production of knowledge for research, analysis and reflections on the transformations that unequally impact humanity in the Brazilian territory in the 21st century.

Spring Iyaleta 2023 – presented a platform of free and paid courses, aimed at observers of national and international climate policies, researchers, activists, movements, students, organizations, public managers and parliamentarians working on climate, environmental, social, economic, racial and gender agender in Brazilian territory.
